Attention Paytm FASTag users: As of February 29, 2024, Paytm FASTag will no longer work with Paytm Payments Bank due to an RBI ban. However, Paytm assures continuous service through partnerships with other banks. If you still wish to close your Paytm FASTag, here’s what you need to know:

Before You Proceed:

  • Deactivating your Paytm FASTag is permanent. You won’t be able to reactivate it later and will need to get a new one with associated charges.
  • Your security deposit and FASTag balance will be refunded within 5-7 working days, but a new FASTag might require additional fees.
  • Currently, porting your Paytm FASTag to another bank or NETC is not possible. You’ll need to deactivate it and apply for a new one from another provider.

  1. Download the Paytm App
  2. Log in to your Paytm account with the mobile number registered to your FASTag.

  18. Your VRN will be marked as “Closure Initiated,” and you’ll receive an SMS notification.

Additional Information:

  • For a new FASTag, consider providers like IDFC First, ICICI, HDFC, Axis, Kotak, Airtel Payments Bank, Park Plus, etc. Choose one based on your needs for detailed statements, customer support, and offers.
  • Remember to update your FASTag KYC before February 29th, 2024, to avoid deactivation. You can do this through the Paytm app or by contacting customer care.
  • NHAI strictly enforces the “1 vehicle, 1 FASTag” rule. Ensure you don’t have multiple FASTags linked to your vehicle.
