Exciting news for internet enthusiasts! Reliance Jio is all set to unveil its latest offering, Jio AirFiber, a high-speed wireless internet service designed for both homes and offices, with a launch date of September 19. This announcement came during the Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting in 2023, promising a super-fast internet experience for users.

Jio AirFiber Price and Features

Jio AirFiber is expected to be competitively priced at around Rs. 6,000, slightly more than conventional internet services due to its portable device inclusion. What sets AirFiber apart are its remarkable features, including parental controls, support for Wi-Fi 6 technology, and a built-in security firewall. Unlike Jio Fiber, which requires professional installation, AirFiber is designed to be user-friendly, offering a plug-and-play solution for ease of setup.

Jio AirFiber vs. Jio Fiber

A notable distinction between Jio AirFiber and Jio Fiber lies in their delivery methods. While Jio Fiber relies on cables for internet connectivity, AirFiber utilizes wireless signals, establishing a direct link to your home or office. This wireless approach eliminates the need for traditional cables and depends on a clear signal received from Jio towers.

Jio AirFiber also boasts faster internet speeds, reaching up to 1.5 Gbps, surpassing Jio Fiber’s 1 Gbps. However, the actual speed experienced may vary depending on your proximity to the nearest tower. Moreover,  wireless technology enables it to extend its reach to areas previously constrained by cable limitations.

Jio AirFiber vs. Airtel Xstream AirFiber

Jio AirFiber and Airtel Xstream AirFiber share common ground in their utilization of modern Wi-Fi 6 technology routers, offering advantages over older Wi-Fi 5 technology. These routers deliver faster speeds, reduced latency, and wider coverage. However, the actual speed experienced by users of both services will be contingent on network coverage in their respective areas, as both rely on 5G connections through SIM cards.

Additionally, both Jio and Airtel will provide dedicated apps for Android and iOS users to manage subscriptions and router settings. These apps will include features such as parental controls, connection limits, and guidance on optimizing the internet signal within your home or office.

Presently, Airtel Xstream AirFiber offers a 6-month plan with a promised speed of 100 Mbps, priced at Rs. 7,733. The choice between Jio AirFiber and Airtel Xstream AirFiber will likely depend on individual preferences, regional coverage, and desired internet speeds.
